The gesture no doubt brought good karma McCutchen’s way: Pittsburgh’s MVP center fielder laced an RBI double in the third inning to get the Bucs on the board. It also brought bad karma as well: Padres outfielder Justin Upton later made an athletic over-the-wall catch to rob McCutchen of a home run.
